Edit a Resource

  1. Select Project Data > Resources in the Navigation Menu. The Manage Resources tab window displays.
  2. Click on the Structure [Select] dropdown in the Ribbon Menu and select the resource structure you want from the list.
  3. Select the Resources tab. The left pane displays a grid view of the resource hierarchy.
  4. Expand the resource hierarchy as needed.
  5. Select the resource you want in the hierarchy and click Edit. An Edit Resource dialog box displays. Modify the resource details as needed.
    1. Optional. Update the Description for the resource.
    2. Optional. Select a resource calendar Hours Set from the dropdown. This only applies to labor resources. For instances where you have defined a resource specific calendar, select or update the resource calendar here. Otherwise, use the Default calendar setting.
    3. Optional. Assign or update the role assignment for the resource from the Role dropdown. Click on the check box to select the resource role and close the selection window. The resource roles defined in the Manage Roles tab window determines the selections available.

      Tip:

      Assign a single role to the resource. However, you can assign one or more resources to the same resource role.

    4. Optional. Select or remove an EOC (element of cost) category from the dropdown. An EOC category is typically selected for the detail level resources assigned to work packages. The standard predefined list includes Labor, Material, Other Direct Cost, and Subcontract. You may have added other user defined EOC categories. To remove an assigned EOC category, click in the blank row at the top of the dropdown list.

    5. Optional. If you selected an EOC category, you can also select or remove any related EOC Detail sub category from the dropdown.
    6. Optional. If you have any defined User Fields, select, enter, update, or delete the applicable code or text.
    7. Click OK.
    8. Click Save in the Ribbon Menu.
  6. Optional. If you need to edit the calculation settings for the resource, select the applicable Result row in the middle Calculations pane. A typical update is to change a Rate Group assignment. To do this:
    1. Select the applicable Result row.
    2. Select the desired Rate Group assignment from the dropdown.
    3. Click Save in the Ribbon Menu.
  7. Optional. Close the Manage Resources tab.
