Add ENS User Fields

Prerequisites

  1. Select Home > ENS in the Navigation Menu. The Enterprise Nodal Structure tab window displays.
  2. Expand the hierarchy as needed and the select the node you want.

    Tip:

Adding a user defined field to a node creates a project level field for all projects associated with the node. Once you add a user defined field to the node, enter the ENS field content in the Manage Projects tab widow, ENS Values tab for each project. See Steps 12 through 15.

  3. Click Edit in the Ribbon Menu. The Edit Node window displays.
  4. Select the User Fields tab.
  5. Click Add under the list of User Fields. A User Field dialog box displays. The user field Level is automatically set to "ENS."
  6. Enter a name or data entry Prompt for the field.
  7. Click on the Type dropdown. Select Structure or Text. Selecting Text means users must enter the field content.
  8. When you select Structure for the Type, the Structure dropdown is enabled. Select the code structure for the field from the list of available structures. When a code structure is assigned as a user defined field, the code structure data provides the field dropdown selection options for users.

    Tip:

Structures already assigned as user fields elsewhere do not appear in the selection list. If you don't see a code structure you just created, click Refresh in the Ribbon Menu.

  9. Either uncheck the Required option or leave it checked.

    Tip:

Required means users must enter text or select a code from the assigned code structure. They cannot leave the field blank.

  10. Click OK to return to the Edit Node window. The assigned structure or text user field is added as a row in the list of user fields.

    Tip:

To delete a user defined field, select the field row and click Remove.

  11. Click Save to return to the Enterprise Nodal Structure window.
  12. Select Project Data > Projects in the Navigation Menu. The Manage Projects tab window displays.
  13. Click on the Structure [Select] dropdown in the Ribbon Menu and select the project you want from the list.
  14. Select the ENS Values tab. The list of user defined fields displays.
  15. For code structures, select the code from the dropdown or enter the applicable text for the field. User defined ENS fields may also be Boolean or date fields.
  16. Click Save in the Ribbon Menu.
  17. Optional. Close the Manage Projects tab.
  18. Return to the Enterprise Nodal Structure tab and click Refresh Projects in the Ribbon Menu.
